24 Feb Extraordinary talent visa, a way of living in the US
The O Visa allows you to legally travel to the US. It is uniquely granted to people who possess extraordinary abilities.
This Visa is limited and ideal for people in the following fields:
•Arts
•Science
•Sports
•Education
•Business
•Movies and Television
A O-1A Visa is granted to people in the first four fields, while people in the other fields are granted an O-1B Visa.
Even though is is very common to believe this Visa is mostly granted to artists, it isn’t the case. Some of the people who can receive this Visa are:
•Agents
•Chefs
•Athletes and trainers
•Brand, marketing, and publicity directors
•Hairstylists
•Photographers
•Gallery owners
•Makeup artists
•Painters
•Producers
•Sommeliers
•Furniture restorer
When applying for one, you must submit the I-129 fill-out form to the USCIS. It must be sent at least 45 days before the working contract begins.
Immigrants can’t sponsor themselves. They need another sponsor, such as:
•A US-based business or employer
•An agent
The sponsor must be the immigrant’s employer, no matter if they’re working for them full-time or independently. In this case, the 1099 fill-out form must be taken into account.
In some cases, an immigrant can fund a business in the US, and the business can hire them through and O1-A Visa.
